On Tuesday, a lower Manhattan court housing a civil lawsuit against former President Donald Trump received a fake bomb threat, momentarily suspending proceedings.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) investigates the reported threat against the 60 Centre Street courtroom where New York Attorney General Letitia James filed the lawsuit alleging that Trump overstated the assets of his real estate company. The New York Daily News stated that further baseless bomb threats were made against the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, the NYPD headquarters, and the Manhattan Criminal Court.
A spokesperson for the NYPD confirmed to The Daily Caller that investigations into the threats are underway but declined to offer an update.
In September 2022, James filed a lawsuit against Trump, his adult children Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump, and the Trump Organization. She said the previous president overstated his net worth to enrich himself illegally and defraud the system. Also, the action names former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg and controller Jeffrey McConney.
Trump’s $130,000 payment to adult actress Stormy Daniels is the subject of a criminal investigation conducted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. James’ lawsuit is unconnected to that probe. As he categorized the payment as a legal expenditure, Trump will likely be charged for illegally manipulating corporate records.
Trump stated that he anticipated being arrested on Tuesday, although the grand jury examining the payments has not yet concluded its investigation.
According to Trump, illegal leaks from a corrupt & highly political Manhattan District Attorney’s office, whose leader is funded by George Soros & has allowed new violent crime records to be set, indicate that, since there is no evidence of a crime, a fairytale that has been thoroughly debunked. Former president and leading Republican candidate will be arrested next Tuesday, he posted on Truth Social.
“Protest, take our nation back!” He added.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) has also deployed 700 riot cops, and in anticipation of civil disorder, the Manhattan Criminal Court has been surrounded by steel barricades. The safety protocols were being implemented on the potential condition that Donald Trump may be arrested following a potential grand jury indictment regarding his alleged involvement in paying a former porn star to stay quiet.
The mayor’s top public safety aides and more than a dozen senior Police Department officials convened a virtual conference to discuss security, staffing, and contingency plans in the case of demonstrations, according to a source reported by Kyle Becker in Trending Politics.
House Republican investigators demanded that the Manhattan district attorney explain their claimed (leaked) intention to charge Donald Trump.
Reps. Jim Jordan (Chairman of the Judiciary Committee), James Comer (Chairman of the Oversight Committee), and Bryan Steil wrote to Bragg on Monday; he was reportedly about to commit an unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial power: indicting a former president and currently declared presidential candidate.
According to the letter, the indictment comes after years of your office seeking a basis – any basis – to file charges, finally choosing an untested legal theory that federal authorities declined to pursue. The letter then demolishes the “untested legal theory” behind Bragg’s anticipated indictment. It identifies former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, Bragg’s star witness and convicted perjurer, as having a “severe credibility problem.”
The letter requests all papers and correspondence associated with the judgment.
