The Majority Of Florida Republicans In Congress Support Trump Over DeSantis.

According to Breitbart, the majority of Florida’s Republican congressional delegation has endorsed Donald Trump over their home state governor, Ron DeSantis, in the 2024 presidential election.

DeSantis has not yet confirmed his candidacy for the campaign. Still, he has met behind closed doors with a limited number of congressional Republicans this week as he seeks support inside his party to challenge Trump for the Republican nomination.

Matt Gaetz, Anna Paulina Luna, Byron Donalds, Cory Mills, Vern Buchanan, Gus Bilirakis, Carlos Gimenz, John Rutherford, Greg Steube, Brian Mast, and Mike Waltz have all backed Trump thus far. NBC reported last week that DeSantis’ campaign organization was contacting Republican members of Florida’s congressional delegation to rally support after four members publicly supported Trump.

There is a report that Reps. Greg Steube, Aaron Bean, Vern Buchanan, Kat Cammack, Mario Diaz-Balart, and Laurel Lee have been contacted and told not to endorse any candidates in the near future. A GOP consultant for one of the legislators DeSantis’ campaign contacted said it is clear that the DeSantis camp is upset that so many members of the state’s congressional delegation are backing Trump. While Gaetz’s support for Trump is one thing, Byron Donald’s support for the former president undoubtedly shook some cages.

According to Donalds, there is only one leader in the nation’s history who can seize the moment and deliver what is needed. In his endorsement of Donald J. Trump for President, Donalds encouraged his fellow Americans to do the same.

In an interview earlier this week, Donalds stated he supported Trump because the United States needed someone “ready for prime time.”

Meanwhile, Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis drew attention Thursday to the implications of Democrats capturing the White House and Congress in 2024, emphasizing their radical legislative agenda.

While the governor has yet to officially launch a campaign against former President Donald Trump for the Republican nomination in 2024, he recently delivered some dire warnings to a conservative organization in Washington, D.C.

“The left is playing for keeps,” DeSantis said at the Heritage Foundation’s 50th-anniversary party, claiming the Democrats will “pack” the Supreme Court and “abolish the Electoral College” if they win again.

According to DeSantis, the Democrats will try to make Washington, D.C., a state to get two left-wing senators virtually for life. Voter ID will be eliminated across the country, and ballot harvesting will be mandated.

The panel moderator, Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts, did not ask if DeSantis would run in 2024. The governor talked about his recent legislative victories in Florida. Stating that they had recently signed the heartbeat bill to protect life, referring to the state’s six-week abortion restriction, which was adopted last week. He also emphasized the new constitutional carry statute, which eliminates the permit needed for lawful gun owners.

The governor then voiced his desire for a southern border wall before shifting to other infrastructure initiatives, most notably Florida’s rehabilitation from Hurricane Ian. DeSantis talked about how he had a crew fixing the bridge to Pine Island in record time. DeSantis said he was willing to send those guys in Florida to the southern border to build a wall. According to a Heritage Foundation representative, there were 1,070 persons in the audience when DeSantis spoke.
