Arrest Made in Murder of Store Clerk During Aggravated Robbery

BEAUMONT, Texas — A 19-year-old suspect has been arrested by Beaumont police on charges of murdering a store clerk during an Aggravated Robbery and fleeing with a second suspect after stealing cigarettes. The arrest was made only hours after the killing of the clerk, Sheikh Abir-Hossain, at the Kris Food Mart.

The suspect, identified as Keandre Robinson, was seen leaving the police station for the trip to jail. The bond for the murder charge has been set at $800,000 by Justice of the Peace Naomi Doyle. The police are currently seeking the second suspect, who was captured on the store surveillance camera armed with a handgun, wearing black jeans, and a black hoodie with the word “NERD” on it.

The incident took place on Friday, December 29, at 10:09 p.m., when Beaumont Police responded to the shooting at Kris Food Mart, where they found the store clerk dead from gunshot wounds. The preliminary investigation indicated that two suspects entered the store, robbed the clerk at gunpoint, and then fled on foot after shooting and killing the clerk.

Detectives have obtained surveillance video of the suspects, and according to Officer Haley Morrow, the arrest of Robinson was made possible with the help of Crime Stoppers tips from the public. The video shows a heavyset man with dreadlocks entering the store armed with a handgun, wearing a dark jacket with a hood, carrying an orange bag. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward by contacting Beaumont Police or submitting a tip to Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers.

The investigation is still ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to reach out to the authorities. Remember, all Crime Stoppers tips are anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
