SAO PAULO, Brazil – Brazilian influencer Henrique Medeiros, known for his pranks, was found dead near his home after changing his Christmas plans last minute. Police have launched a murder inquiry and are seeking a friend who spent Christmas Eve with him.
The pal, also Henrique’s neighbor, was interviewed by a local TV station before the influencer’s body was found. He claimed that Henrique left his house after dinner to walk back to his own property, just 100 feet away.
Henrique, with nearly two million followers on YouTube and Instagram, was planning to have dinner with his family on Christmas Eve but changed his plans at the last minute.
His body was found in a makeshift grave in the garden of the house where he was last seen. The suspect, a friend of the influencer, has vanished and had his home looted and set on fire by angry locals near Sao Paulo.
The family confirmed his identity after his body was found, stating that they recognized Henrique by his clothes and his tattoo. The property he moved into at the start of the year, which is thought to have been searched by authorities, includes a plaque commemorating his first one million YouTube followers.
Henrique, who also recently started editing videos for other influencers, vanished in just the clothes he was wearing, including a shirt with his own logo on it, his ID card, and mobile phone. An investigation is ongoing to uncover the truth behind his tragic death.
