HAWTHORNE, Calif. – A tragic shooting incident occurred near a strip mall in Hawthorne, Calif early Sunday, resulting in the death of a woman and the injury of five other individuals. According to Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. Arturo Spencer, one man is in critical condition, while four others are in stable condition. The ages and cities of residences of the injured have not been disclosed.
The shooting took place as people were congregating at the strip mall, but the reason behind the gathering and the motive behind the shooting remain unknown. Hawthorne police responded to a call of gunshots and found a man with gunshot wounds at the scene. Firefighters transported the man to a hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
