Arrested Suspect Charged in New Britain Shooting Death Case

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 44-year-old woman and the injury of two others in a North Street apartment. Antoine Harris, 44, was located and taken into custody at the residence where the shooting occurred.

The deceased victim has been identified as Sabrina Finch, 44. Harris has been charged with murder, two counts of first-degree assault, criminal use of a weapon, and criminal possession of a pistol. He is being held on $1.8 million bond and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

According to Deputy Police Chief Adam Rembisz, the shooter was in a “dating relationship” with the woman who was killed and had been living at the residence. After the shooting, the shooter fled the scene before officers arrived. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other two victims were treated at a local hospital and remained in stable condition.

Rembisz assured the public that this was not a random act of violence, and there is no known danger to the public. State police and the state attorney’s office are assisting local officers in the investigation.
