Investigation Continues into Indian-Origin Family Tragedy in Massachusetts Mansion

DOVER, Mass. – Police are currently investigating the deaths of a wealthy Indian-origin couple and their teenage daughter, who were discovered deceased in their $5 million mansion in Dover, Massachusetts. Rakesh Kamal, 57, his wife, Teena, 54, and their 18-year-old daughter, Ariana, were found dead in their 11-bedroom, 13-bathroom home on Thursday.

Norfolk District Attorney (DA) Michael Morrissey has labeled the incident as a “domestic violence situation,” due to the presence of a gun near Rakesh’s body. The medical examiner’s office is still examining the cause and manner of their deaths.

The Kamal family previously operated an education systems company named EduNova, which closed its doors in December 2021. Ariana, who had recently graduated from Milton Academy and was in her first year at Middlebury College, was described as a bright and kind student by her school community.

The grim discovery was made after a relative, who hadn’t heard from the family in a couple of days, stopped by to check on them. The affluent family appears to have faced financial difficulties in recent years, with their mansion being sold for $3 million after going into foreclosure.

The tragic loss of the Kamal family has left a deep impact on their community and the authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
