Arrests Made in Connection with Disappearance and Death Linked to $440,000 Business Debt

KENNEDY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The disappearance and death of a Westmoreland County man has led to the arrest of three individuals, according to Allegheny County police. The investigation revealed the homicide was related to a $440,000 business debt. After a lengthy update late Saturday night, Jeremy Fisher, 41, of Coraopolis, William Fortuna, 58, of Conway, and Braden Elliott, 20, of Chicora, were named as the three men charged in the death of George Dayieb, 57, of Murrysville. They are facing criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy, and abuse of a corpse charges.

County police stated that Dayieb was reported missing and endangered by his significant other to Murrysville police on Wednesday afternoon. His unoccupied pickup truck was found by Kennedy Township police later that day.

Dayieb was believed to have left his home earlier the same morning to collect a substantial debt, over $439,000, from Fisher, his business partner. Fisher owed Dayieb the money for equipment that Dayieb had purchased for their excavation company in Robinson Township. The criminal complaints for Elliott and Fortuna revealed that Fisher conspired with the other two men to carry out the murder.

Evidence showed Dayieb entering Fisher’s vehicle near a gas station in Coraopolis, with Elliott sitting in the back seat behind Dayieb and Fortuna following in another truck. Elliott attempted to shoot Dayieb while the trucks were on the move, but he misfired, forcing them to pull over at a gas station. After fixing the gun, Fisher instructed Elliott to shoot Dayieb, which resulted in his death.

Following the arrest of all three individuals, a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for two of the accused, while Fisher was taken to a local hospital due to a medical emergency. Records show Fisher has a history of financial problems, including a significant amount of debt.

The investigation and subsequent arrests were commended by County police Assistant Superintendent Victor Joseph, who emphasized the importance of thorough investigation in cases like this. A preliminary hearing for Elliott and Fortuna has been set for Jan. 12, with both being held at the Allegheny County Jail. Dayieb’s body was ultimately discovered in an abandoned trailer, revealing a gunshot wound to his head.
