Explosion at LPG Station in Pyeongchang Injures Five Residents and Damages Buildings and Cars

PYEONGCHANG, South Korea – An explosion at an LPG station in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province, left five residents injured on Monday night. The explosion, which was caused by a reported gas leak at the liquefied petroleum gas station, resulted in severe burns for two of the injured individuals, while the other three sustained minor injuries. Fourteen buildings and several cars were damaged in the blast, with approximately 25 residents from nearby areas being evacuated as a safety precaution.

The incident took place at the LPG station in Jangpyeong-ri, Yongpyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang County, around 8:41 p.m. on Monday. The resulting fire was put out after about three hours.
