Tallahassee, Fla. – As the one-year anniversary of the unsolved murder of Casey Mack Goodson approaches, several local families continue to mourn the loss of their loved ones. Goodson was shot near his home on Ravensview Drive last January, and his family is still seeking answers about his killing. Despite putting up a $9,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of Casey Mack’s killer, they have not found closure yet.
Another family grappling with an unsolved tragedy is that of former Valdosta State student Brianna Long, who was killed by a stray bullet in October of 2023. The 21-year-old was described as a bright light to those around her, her friends and family still reeling from her senseless death. A $25,000 reward has been offered by an anonymous resident in hopes of bringing her killer to justice.
The third unsolved tragedy involves a 16-year-old Valdosta High School student and football player, Sam Johnson, Jr., whose life was taken when he was hit by a car after stopping to help a dog on the road. Although the driver was found, no charges have been filed in connection with his death.
As these families grieve and seek closure, local authorities urge anyone with information about these cases to come forward and help bring the families the justice they deserve. These tragic deaths remain unsolved, leaving the families with no closure. The communities are urged to come together and support these families in their quest for justice and closure.
