Arrested husband with $100,000 cash at Vegas casino linked to wife’s homicide and previous murder-for-hire plot

Fayette County, Pennsylvania – The husband of a 26-year-old woman found shot to death in her Pennsylvania home was arrested at a Las Vegas casino with $100,000 in cash. This arrest came just one day after her body was discovered. The suspect, Art Guty Jr., had previously been the target of a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by his first wife in 2019.

According to Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele, Guty, 55, was attempting to flee the country with a large sum of cash to avoid responsibility for his wife’s death. Guty had married Nicole Zambrano just a year ago. Zambrano, a Venezuelan immigrant and housekeeper, had been reported missing by her colleagues when she did not show up for work three days in a row at a resort.

After Zambrano’s body was found on Monday, a homicide warrant was issued for Guty. Police were able to track him to the Mardi Gras Casino in Las Vegas using cellphone pings. Interestingly, it was revealed that Guty’s first wife, Roxanne, had been arrested four years ago for attempting to hire a hitman to kill him for life insurance money. She later pleaded guilty to lesser charges.

Guty’s friend, Carlos Ramirez, who introduced him to Zambrano, expressed deep regret, saying, “It was me who got them together. I introduced Art to her. That’s what hurts me a lot.” Zambrano had last been heard from on Christmas Eve, and Guty told neighbors they were going to Florida or the Grand Canyon.

The case has uncovered signs of trouble in the relationship, with a neighbor recalling that Guty had made a statement about Zambrano possibly being unfaithful. “If I find out she’s messing around, I’ll kill her,” Guty had reportedly said.

In a shocking turn of events, Guty’s previous involvement in a murder-for-hire plot and his arrest at a casino with a large sum of cash have spurred further investigation and speculation surrounding Nicole Zambrano’s tragic death.
