LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Las Vegas police are on the lookout for the individuals who burglarized the home of one of the victims of last month’s fatal shooting at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.
According to a report by Fox affiliate KVVU, police were notified of the burglary on Dec. 26, around 1 p.m. at the home of Naoko Takemaru, who tragically lost her life during the Dec. 6 shooting. The perpetrator, described as a woman, was seen leaving Takemaru’s home with multiple items and was later joined by two men wearing face coverings.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered multiple cabinets in the home left open, indicating a clear sign of a break-in. Takemaru was one of three UNLV instructors killed during the shooting, along with Jerry Cha-Jan Chang and Patricia Navarro-Velez. Another visiting professor was hospitalized with serious injuries. The shooter was killed during the attack after a confrontation with law enforcement.
