WYTHE COUNTY, Va. – On Christmas Eve, the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Shelter experienced a heartbreaking event as a young bald eagle succumbed to a gunshot wound in the wing. This tragic incident has left the community saddened and seeking justice for the bird.
The bald eagle, a symbol of strength and freedom, was found injured and brought to the wildlife shelter for treatment. Despite the efforts of the staff, the eagle did not survive, sparking outrage and sorrow among the staff and community members.
