Indictments Handed Down in Unsolved Fall River Homicide Case

FALL RIVER, Mass. – Four men from Fall River have recently been indicted in connection to the unsolved homicide of 23-year-old Diamonte Odom in May 2023, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced. This development came after a long-term grand jury investigation into the homicide, with the lead investigators being Fall River Police Detective Luis Vertentes and Massachusetts State Police Detective Robert Twitchell.

Tajon Saxon, 26, has been indicted on charges of Murder, Carrying a Loaded Illegal Firearm, and Carrying an Illegal Firearm. Saxon, however, remains at large and is the subject of an intensive manhunt. Quanif Johnson, 26, was also indicted on similar charges, as well as charges related to drug trafficking and unlawful possession of firearms. Dioni Tavarez-Leonirio, 25, and Devin Alves, 18, were indicted on other charges related to the ongoing homicide investigation as well.

The homicide occurred on May 13, 2023, just before 10:45 p.m., when Fall River Police responded to multiple 911 calls regarding shots fired in the area of 275 County Street. Odom was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his face and later pronounced deceased at Rhode Island Hospital.

As the indicted defendants have yet to be arraigned in open court, no further details have been released.
