FORT CALHOUN, Neb. — A 43-year-old man accused of the murder trial of a Nebraska priest has been bound over to district court after an appearance in Washington County court. Kierre Williams faces charges of first-degree murder, using a deadly weapon to commit a felony, burglary, and possession of a weapon by a prohibited person in the killing of Rev. Stephen Gutgsell at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Gutgsell was killed during a break-in at the church’s rectory in December, as per authorities. Deputies received a 911 call from Gutgsell reporting a man armed with a knife in his kitchen.
