LACONIA, New Hampshire – Adam Montgomery, a father from New Hampshire, is currently facing evidence that prosecutors claim links him to the purchase of chemicals and power tools believed to have been used in the dismemberment and hiding of his daughter Harmon’s remains. The 33-year-old has been accused of murder, with allegations that he bought 80 pounds of lime, a diamond-edged blade, and a power grinder shortly before disposing of his daughter’s body.
Prosecutors argue that the purchases are significant circumstantial evidence in connecting Montgomery to the crime. According to court documents, his now-estranged wife Kayla Montgomery revealed that he intended to use the lime to help decompose Harmony’s body without detection. Additional chilling details reveal that the defendant kept his daughter’s remains in a cooler and dufflebag before finally dumping them at an unknown location outside Boston.
Montgomery, who is an ex-convict and heroin addict, has also been accused of prior “bad acts” and witness tampering. He is set to stand trial for murder, falsifying evidence, abuse of a corpse, and witness tampering. Prosecutors have amassed almost 200 names for the witness list, including law enforcement officials, Montgomery’s relatives, and forensics experts, ahead of the trial scheduled for February 7.
The heartbreaking case has shocked the local community, especially since Harmony Montgomery’s remains have not been found. The girl’s disappearance was reported in 2021 when her mother discovered she had been unaccounted for since 2019. In January of last year, Montgomery was indicted on second-degree murder charges.
As the trial looms, the haunting details of this savage plot to conceal a heinous crime continue to unfold, shedding light on the tragic fate of young Harmony Montgomery.
