Firefighters Accused of Gang-Raping Colleague’s Sister Searched Google for Ways to Avoid Detection

Albuquerque, New Mexico – Three firefighters from Albuquerque Fire Rescue are facing charges of second-degree rape for allegedly gang-raping the sister of a fellow colleague. The accused, Lt. Aden Heyman, Firefighter Angel Portillo, and retired driver Anthony Martin, are said to have texted each other in the aftermath and made a vow of silence to keep the incident under wraps.

According to police documents obtained by the Albuquerque Journal, the trio was found to have searched Google on how to get away with the crime and exchanged text messages expressing their intention to remain silent. The victim’s sister also received regretful text messages from Portillo, acknowledging alcohol-influenced decisions that led to regrettable actions.

In an attempt to avoid being linked to the crime, Heyman even ran a web search on the duration of DNA in the vagina three weeks after the attack. The incident occurred after a local golf tournament, where the victim and her sister had been drinking with the accused men before going back to Martin’s place.

The victim and her sister reported that the atmosphere changed when Heyman arrived at the house, and the victim suddenly felt unwell and eventually passed out. She later awoke to find Heyman instructing the other two on how to assault her. Fortunately, she managed to escape through a bathroom window and was later found crying outside the apartment complex.

The accused firefighters have been charged and are facing the legal consequences of their alleged actions. The case serves as a grim reminder of the darkness that can hide beneath a facade of trust and camaraderie, leaving a traumatized victim in its wake.
