Hampton Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Burglary and Animal Cruelty Suspect

HAMPTON, Va. (AP) — Police in Hampton are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a burglary and animal cruelty incident. The incident took place on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at United Auto Repair on the 2500 block of West Pembroke Avenue.

According to police, the suspect gained entry to the closed business through an unsecured door. Once inside, the suspect shot a 1-year-old Rottweiler in an office, and then shot a 4-year-old Pitbull Terrier in a second floor office. The Rottweiler died at the scene, while the Pitbull Terrier was taken to an emergency veterinary hospital.

Authorities are now searching for a suspect described as wearing a black ski mask, black beanie hat with a white logo, and black and white sneakers.

The incident has shocked and appalled the local community, and many are urging anyone with information to come forward and help bring the perpetrator to justice. The senseless act of violence against innocent animals has sparked outrage and calls for stricter penalties for animal cruelty offenders.
