Phoenix Murder-Suicide Leaves Two Dead in Tragic Domestic Violence Incident

PHOENIX, Arizona – A tragic incident unfolded in north Phoenix on Sunday morning, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. According to the police, a man shot and killed his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself. The victims were identified as 70-year-old Ila Washington and 59-year-old Darryle Mooney.

Law enforcement officials were alerted to a potential domestic violence situation at around 8:45 a.m. They received information suggesting that Mooney had fatally shot his girlfriend and was contemplating taking his own life. Following the issuance of a search warrant, authorities were able to enter the home where they found the lifeless bodies of Washington and Mooney. It was determined that the perpetrator had taken his own life prior to the arrival of law enforcement officers.
