Fatal Shooting at Oakland County Strip Mall Leaves One Dead and Another Injured

PONTIAC, MI – A fatal shooting at an Oakland County strip mall left one man dead and another injured, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred at 4 p.m. on Sunday in the 400 block of West Huron Street near South Johnson Avenue in Pontiac.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Json Markell Hunt of Clinton Township, was found shot inside a business, while a 25-year-old man was found shot in the strip mall’s parking lot. The injured man reported that he and his cousin had been shot inside one of the mall’s businesses.

The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital and listed in stable but critical condition. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office did not release any information about the potential shooter. Sheriff Michael Bouchard urged the public to come forward with any information that may be relevant to the case.

“We could use the public’s help on this. If anyone has information about who may have been present or involved, please contact us or Crime Stoppers. We will work diligently to hold the individual(s) involved in this responsible,” Sheriff Bouchard said.
