HAYWARD, Calif. – Hayward police reported the city’s first homicide of the year on Wednesday after a person was shot and killed in the 21000 block of Foothill Boulevard. The fatal shooting took place at around 3:25 p.m., with officers finding an unresponsive male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A suspect in the shooting was located and taken into custody by the police. At this time, the names of the victim and the suspect have not been released.
