Robbery and Kidnapping at Gastonia Jewelry Store Leaves Man Injured with Gunshot Wound

GASTONIA, N.C. – A horrifying incident unfolded in Gastonia on Wednesday night when a man was shot in the back during a robbery and kidnapping that began at his jewelry store, according to officials. Police were called to the man’s home on Amberley Crossing Drive, where he reported being shot and robbed at his store by four masked men before being kidnapped and taken to his home. The two locations, the store and the man’s home, are about 15 minutes apart.

The victim was taken to Caromont Regional Medical Center to be treated for a gunshot wound in his back. This recent violent incident comes after nearly 60 shots were fired into a home on Nixon Road, which intersects with Amberley Crossing Drive, this past Sunday, leaving residents fearing for their safety.
