CORNER BROOK, N.L. – Two young individuals are facing charges after an alleged assault on another youth took place at Corner Brook Intermediate School on Feb. 1, 2023. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a disturbance at the school that morning and found a male youth who had been assaulted. He received medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries before being transported to the hospital. As a result of the incident, a male youth is charged with assault causing bodily harm, and a female youth is charged with assault. Both accused have been released to appear in provincial court at a later date.
The RNC confirmed that the assault occurred inside the school. Const. James Cadigan, the RNC’s media relations and public communication officer, stated that it is uncertain whether all the youth involved were students at Corner Brook Intermediate.
