Cunningham, Tennessee – A man from Cunningham, Tennessee, has been apprehended for allegedly planning a violent attack against federal agents at the U.S.-Mexico border with the assistance of various militia groups. Paul Faye has been charged with possession, sale, or transfer of an unregistered firearm following an extensive undercover investigation in Nashville.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Nashville, Faye expressed his desire to incite chaos at the border and intended to coordinate the attack with militia groups from several states. He hoped that the resulting violence would lead to a “domino effect,” with others traveling to the border in support of his efforts.
During the undercover investigation, Faye made alarming statements, expressing his belief that the U.S. government was training to take on its citizens and claimed that the government planned to use migrants crossing the border as part of its scheme. He also reportedly said that patriots would rise up because of the perceived invasion.
The complaint detailed Faye’s plans, which included serving as a sniper and potentially using explosives. At a meeting at his home, Faye allegedly displayed a “war room,” containing numerous firearms, ammunition, radios, and a bulletproof vest. Subsequently, he sold an unregistered silencer to an undercover agent for $100, leading to his arrest this week.
Faye’s arrest was initiated following the apprehension of another Tennessee man, Bryan Perry, who faces numerous charges after being accused of plotting to shoot Border Patrol agents and migrants crossing into the U.S.
A search of Perry’s cellphone led to the discovery of communications with Faye, indicating Faye’s desire to travel to the border with Perry and another person to commit acts of violence. Both Perry and another individual arrested with him are currently held without bond.
The authorities’ actions in thwarting these alleged plots underscore the ongoing challenge of preventing domestic threats and violent acts. This case also highlights the importance of proactive law enforcement efforts in addressing potential security risks.
