Immigration: Violent Migrants Who Attacked NYPD Officers Still At Large

NEW YORK CITY – The New York Police Department has yet to apprehend two violent migrants captured on CCTV stomping and kicking two police officers during a brutal attack in Times Square at the end of last month.

The suspects remain at large and have not been arrested in connection with the shocking assault, where a group of illegal immigrants assaulted NYPD officers just a few steps away from a popular tourist destination, the New Amsterdam Theater.

In photos released by the police, one of the migrants is seen wearing a red hoody, black pants, black sneakers, and a white baseball cap. Meanwhile, the second migrant is pictured wearing a dark-colored puffer coat, blue jeans, sneakers, and a red baseball cap.

According to the police, in the now-viral video of the attack, one of the migrants stomped on a lieutenant’s head while another officer tried to apprehend a suspect on the ground. The migrant then proceeded to kick the other officer in the back before returning to kick the lieutenant once again.

Several of the individuals arrested in connection with the attack have since been released on bail and fled the state, prompting New York Republican lawmakers to call for the removal of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg from office. Bragg, however, has stated that his office is working with law enforcement to ensure that everyone responsible for the attacks is brought to justice.

The brutal attacks in Times Square come amidst an increase in violent crime committed by illegal immigrants in New York City. Additionally, the city is housing around 67,000 migrants in various shelters, resulting in reduced funding for services such as food and other essential services.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is seeking $4.6 billion from the state to address the illegal migrant crisis, with over 170,000 migrants arriving in the city since 2022. Gov. Kathy Hochul has already committed $2.4 billion to pay for large-scale migrant tent shelters in Queens, Randall’s Island, and Brooklyn’s Floyd Bennett Field.

Moreover, the city is set to launch a $53 million pilot program to distribute prepaid credit cards to migrant families housed in hotels, as reported.
