Murder-suicide: Meta Engineer Kills Wife, Twins in Tragic California Incident

San Mateo, California – A tragic incident has shocked the community as a former Meta engineer, Anand Sujith Henry, along with his data scientist wife, Alice Benzinger, and their two 4-year-old twins were found dead inside their $2.1 million California home. Police are now investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.

The bodies of the couple were discovered with gunshot wounds inside the house, along with a 9mm pistol and a loaded magazine inside one of the bathrooms. Their two sons were also found dead inside one of the five bedrooms. The cause of death for the two boys has not been released, and it is believed that they were either smothered, strangled, or given a lethal overdose.

Anand Sujith Henry, who was a former software engineering manager at both Meta and Google, had filed for divorce from Alice Benzinger in December 2016. But the divorce never materialized, and the couple moved into their San Mateo home in 2020 where they would raise their two children.

Neighbors described the couple as friendly, and the community is shocked by the tragedy. Some neighbors reported hearing gunshots coming from the home before police arrived at the scene. The motive for the deaths remains unclear, as the investigation continues.

San Mateo Police have emphasized that this appears to be an isolated incident with no danger to the public, as they believe the person responsible was located within the home, and there was no sign of forced entry. Police have been called to the couple’s home in the past, but the nature of those calls has not been disclosed.

This heartbreaking incident has left the community mourning the loss of a seemingly happy family, leaving many unanswered questions and a deep sense of grief.
