Trans Woman Stabbed 14 Times: Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder in London

London, England – A trans teenager was brutally stabbed 14 times in a violent attack in the suburb of Wealdstone, sparking outrage and calls for justice in the UK.

The 18-year-old victim, identified as a trans woman, was rushed to the hospital after the shocking incident on Saturday evening. A 19-year-old woman, Summer Betts-Ramsey, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in relation to the attack. She is set to appear in court in March for a plea hearing.

According to reports, the victim had arranged to attend a roller-skating party with friends on the day of the alleged attack at Harrow Leisure Centre. It is alleged that the victim was subjected to transphobic slurs before being brutally attacked and left hospitalized.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the stabbing incident, and the police continue to appeal for any witnesses to come forward with information. This attack comes just days before a vigil was held to mark the one-year anniversary of the murder of Brianna Ghey, a trans teenager who was fatally stabbed in Warrington last year.

CEO of LGBTQ+ youth charity Just Like Us, Laura Mackay, expressed horror and emphasized the need for safety for all members of the LGBTQ+ community. She highlighted the prevalence of transphobia in society and its link to devastating hate crimes.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the pursuit of justice.
