Violence Erupts in Times Square: NYPD Seeks 18 People in Connection to Stabbing Incident

New York City – The NYPD is actively seeking 18 individuals in connection to two separate violent incidents that occurred in Times Square on Thursday night. These incidents include a stabbing that resulted in a 17-year-old being hospitalized.

According to police officials, the attacks appeared to stem from disagreements, but investigators have not found any links between the two incidents. The teenager who was stabbed near W. 42nd Street is reported to be in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital. The suspects in this case, including the victim, are believed to be migrants.

In a separate incident two hours later, a 28-year-old man was assaulted by a group of men, who repeatedly kicked him in the head and face. Police have taken three individuals into custody and are currently searching for two others in connection to this attack.

Authorities are currently in the process of questioning those individuals who have been detained and are anticipating charges to be filed by Friday. It is worth noting that the stabbing incident occurred near the area where two NYPD officers were recently attacked near a migrant shelter.

The previous attack on the NYPD officers occurred on January 27th when a group of up to 14 individuals assaulted them as they were attempting to disperse disorderly behavior near Times Square. Initially, four individuals were arrested, with a fifth person apprehended a few days later. However, public outcry ensued when all suspects were released without bail.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg faced backlash for the delayed indictments and the release of suspects tied to the attack on the NYPD officers. Bragg assured the public that their thorough investigation has identified all individuals involved in the attack.
