Manhunt for Dangerous Abdullahi Mohamed Following Violent Machete Attack Near Deptford Mosque

London, England – Authorities are on the lookout for a man wanted in connection with a violent machete attack outside a mosque in Deptford, south-east London.

The Metropolitan Police are searching for 24-year-old Abdullahi Mohamed, who is wanted for a stabbing incident that took place on February 9 outside the Deptford Islamic Centre on Childers Street. The victim, a man in his 20s, sustained a stab wound but fortunately, his injuries were not life-threatening.

Detective Constable James Richardson of the Met stated that Mohamed is aware of the police’s efforts to locate him and described the attack as “extremely violent,” involving the use of a large machete. Authorities believe Mohamed poses a danger to the public.

Despite conducting numerous enquiries to locate Mohamed, law enforcement officials are now seeking the public’s assistance by releasing an image of the suspect. It has been clarified that the incident is not classified as a hate crime.

Individuals with information regarding Mohamed’s whereabouts are advised to contact 101 or the Metropolitan Police quoting CRIS 3203506/24. In the case of an immediate sighting, the public is warned against approaching Mohamed but instead, instructed to call 999. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
