Teen Murder in Bucks County Ends with Suspect’s Suicide in Ohio Police Chase

Bensalem, Pennsylvania – The investigation into a tragic Halloween triple shooting that claimed the life of a 14-year-old boy, identified as Peter Romano, has concluded. The incident occurred as officers responded to a call regarding a large group fighting in a parking lot on Oct. 31. The violent outbreak resulted in Romano’s death, with two other individuals sustaining gunshot wounds in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Authorities reported that the altercation escalated quickly from a fight to a shooting, leading to the fatal shooting of Romano and injuries to a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old. The shooting took place amid Halloween festivities, causing shock and horror in the community. Bensalem Director of Public Safety William McVey described the incident as a “horrific nightmare” for Bensalem residents.

Following the shooting, a manhunt ensued for the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Sean Hughes. Surveillance footage captured Hughes fleeing the scene in a stolen vehicle, prompting a police pursuit that ended in tragedy. In a high-speed chase in Ohio, Hughes, considered armed and dangerous, took his own life after the pursuit came to a dramatic conclusion, with officers apprehending another individual involved in the incident.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Hughes had stolen a handgun prior to the shooting from an apartment in Philadelphia. The weapon’s original owner, Kenrick Winslow, faced charges for an illegal firearm transfer. Additionally, an individual identified as Joshua Marquez was taken into custody for obstructing justice by aiding Hughes.
