The assault, involving Eddali attacking a Syrian man with a metal bar inside a Marsa garage, resulted in severe injuries to the victim, who had to spend days in the hospital. The victim recalled the unprovoked attack, highlighting the sudden and violent nature of the incident that left him physically and emotionally scarred.
Eddali faced multiple charges, including grievous bodily harm and theft, but was ultimately found guilty only of grievously injuring the Syrian man. The court took into account Eddali’s criminal record, described as “alarming,” and his lack of remorse or rehabilitation despite previous incarcerations.
