Assailants Identified: Edmonton Police Seek Public’s Help After Violent LRT Station Attack

Edmonton, Alberta – Edmonton police have identified three out of six suspects involved in the assault and robbery of a 64-year-old man at the Churchill LRT station. The victim was waiting for a train at the station when he was attacked and beaten by a group of assailants last month. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m., when one man approached the victim and engaged in a brief verbal exchange before the violent assault took place. The victim was knocked to the ground and attacked by five other individuals who then proceeded to rob him before fleeing the scene.

The victim was treated by emergency medical services on-site and later transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Surveillance footage of the group was released by investigators, leading to the arrest of two suspects. However, three suspects remain unidentified, and police are seeking the public’s help in locating them. One of the male suspects was reportedly armed with pepper spray, while another was seen riding a bicycle. Additionally, there was one female involved in the group.

Const. Anton Golosov expressed gratitude for the public’s assistance in the case and urged anyone who recognizes the suspects in the surveillance photos to come forward to the authorities. Markus Lee Gladue, 21, is currently wanted on warrants for aggravated assault, possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public, and robbery.

Brady Rodney Desroches-Smith, 28, has been charged with aggravated assault and robbery. At the time of his apprehension, Desroches-Smith was also wanted for first-degree murder by Grande Prairie RCMP. Travis Damian Houle, 35, faces charges of aggravated assault, robbery, and failure to comply with a probation order.
