Explosion Injures Two in Southwest Kansas Oil Field Accident

Garden City, Kansas – An oil field accident in southwest Kansas left two individuals injured on Wednesday morning just before 11:30 a.m. The Garden City Fire Department swiftly responded to reports of an explosion in the area of 3300 West Annie Scheer Road in Finney County.

Upon arrival, fire crews discovered two victims with severe burns and immediately initiated life-saving procedures until the Finney County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on the scene. Both individuals were subsequently transferred into ambulances for further medical care under the supervision of EMS.

Following the successful transportation of the victims, fire personnel transitioned their focus to extinguishing a small fire that had been contained within an oil field tank battery. By 12:08 p.m., the fire was successfully brought under control.
