Reward: Los Angeles County offers $30,000 for Information on Fatal Shooting of Hector Ascencio Sr.

Los Angeles, California – The brutal murder of a 58-year-old man in front of his young granddaughter has shaken the community, prompting the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office to offer a reward of $30,000 for information leading to the capture of the perpetrator.

Hector Ascencio Sr. was fatally shot on September 13, 2023, as he opened the door of his home, horrifying his adolescent granddaughter who witnessed the heinous act. In response, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the City of South Gate collectively authorized a $30,000 reward for any details that could aid in the apprehension and conviction of those responsible for Ascencio’s murder.

The victim’s son, Andy Ascencio, expressed disbelief and anguish over the senseless killing of his father, urging anyone with knowledge about the incident to come forward.
