Fatal Two-Car Crash Leaves Three Dead on I-15 in California

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – Tragedy struck on I-15 in California, resulting in three fatalities and numerous injuries following a two-car collision on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred when a Mercedes and Kia collided on the wet road just before 2 p.m.

The impact of the crash caused significant traffic delays, with drivers stuck in standstill traffic for nearly three hours as emergency responders worked to clear the scene. A single lane finally reopened at 5:35 p.m., slowly easing traffic flow through the congested area before all lanes were fully operational again in the early hours of the following day.

Barstow police reported that the Kia hydroplaned, crossed over four lanes of traffic and the center median, ultimately colliding head-on with the Mercedes SUV traveling in the opposite direction. Tragically, two individuals in the Kia and one in the Mercedes lost their lives as a result of the crash.

The victims in the fatal incident included a 43-year-old woman and a 13-year-old boy from the Kia, as well as an 11-year-old boy from the Mercedes. Several others sustained various injuries, with a 3-year-old boy, a 7-year-old boy, and a 15-year-old boy listed in critical condition.

Additional details provided by authorities outlined the ages and conditions of those involved, with a 19-year-old man, a 52-year-old man, and a 34-year-old woman among those injured in the collision. The drivers of each vehicle, a 38-year-old man in the Mercedes and a 52-year-old man in the Kia, also sustained injuries in the tragic event.
