Protective Cousin Killed in Salemtown Shooting, Family Seeks Justice and Support for Children

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A tragic incident unfolded in a Salemtown restaurant, where a man lost his life on Easter Sunday. The victim, identified as 33-year-old Allen Beachem, was fatally shot during brunch at Roasted Salemtown. The gunman’s actions also left several others injured in the establishment on Garfield Street.

The devastating loss has left Beachem’s family grappling with the aftermath, especially considering the four children he leaves behind. Keanna Lowe, Beachem’s second cousin, shared her emotional response to the heartbreaking events, describing Beachem as a devoted husband, father of four, volunteer firefighter, and military veteran.

Lowe recounted how Beachem was celebrating family birthdays at the popular brunch spot in Salemtown when the tragedy struck. The family believes that amidst the chaos, Beachem bravely tried to shield his loved ones from harm, underscoring his role as a protector and a hero in their eyes.

Anton Rucker, the 46-year-old suspected gunman, has been apprehended following a manhunt that led authorities to a residence in Princeton, Kentucky. Rucker’s criminal history includes aggravated assault convictions and previous arrests for felony charges in both Davidson and Rutherford Counties.

Despite the relief of Rucker’s capture, Lowe expressed disappointment in the justice system, questioning how the tragedy could have been prevented if Rucker had been in custody. As the legal proceedings unfold, Rucker faces charges related to Beachem’s death and the injuries inflicted on six others during the shooting incident.

In the wake of the tragedy, Beachem’s family is seeking support through a GoFundMe page to provide for his four children. The community’s response to the fundraising efforts reflects a collective desire to honor Beachem’s memory and support his family during this difficult time.
