Grandmother and Grandfather Indicted in 3-Year-Old Grandson’s Slaying: Shocking Details Emerge

Hardin County, Tennessee – A tragic incident has rocked the community of Saltillo, where a 3-year-old boy named Carson Brasher lost his life on December 26. Indictments reveal that his grandparents, Amy and Jeff Brasher, are now facing serious charges in connection to his death. Amy, 64, has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse, while Jeff has been indicted on felony charges of child abuse and child neglect.

The couple was arrested on March 26, three months after Carson’s passing, following the presentation of the case to a grand jury in Hardin County. Details about the motive behind the killing have not been released to the public. Carson was found unresponsive at his grandparents’ home before being pronounced dead by officials, according to court records.

Carson’s mother, Kimberly Jones, revealed that the Brashars had legal custody of her son while she was undergoing rehabilitation. She stated that she was informed by the Brashars that Carson had “slipped in the bathtub and hit his head” while under his grandmother’s care.

The district attorney representing Hardin County, Neal Thompson, and Hardin County Sheriff Johnny Alexander, who handled the arrest, have not responded to requests for comments. The Hardin County coroner has also been contacted for additional information.

The community is deeply saddened by the loss of Carson, describing him as a bright and adventurous soul who brought joy to everyone around him. His aunt, Meghan Pigg, remembered him fondly for his infectious love and radiant spirit. A fundraising page has been set up to help cover the costs of Carson’s headstone, reflecting the impact he had on those who knew him during his short life.

Amy Brasher remains in jail on a $500,000 bond, while Jeff Brasher posted a $100,000 bond on April 1. Both are scheduled to be arraigned on their respective charges on April 15. Details about their legal representation are currently unavailable. The case continues to unfold as the community comes to terms with the heartbreaking loss of young Carson.
