Winter Haven, Florida – A shocking incident unfolded in Polk County as 21-year-old pre-med student Manny Espinoza stands accused of the murder of his mother, Elvia Espinoza. The Polk County Sheriff described the case as one of the most bizarre they have dealt with, shedding light on the events leading up to the tragic incident.
According to Sheriff Grady Judd, Espinoza arrived at his mother’s residence with the intent of visiting his grandfather. However, what followed was a gruesome attack captured on Ring doorbell camera footage. The video allegedly shows Espinoza entering the home with a concealed knife before launching a violent assault on his mother.
Sheriff Judd revealed that during the attack, Elvia Espinoza could be heard calling out her son’s name repeatedly while the assailant remained silent. The Sheriff mentioned that Manny claimed to know where to stab his mother for maximum effect due to his knowledge gained from biology classes, emphasizing his intellect but also the brutality of the crime.
