Indicted Irondale Man Faces Federal Charges for Alabama Office Explosion

Montgomery, Alabama – An Irondale man faces federal charges in connection with an explosion outside the Alabama Attorney General’s office in Montgomery. Kyle Benjamin Douglas Calvert, 26, was indicted for two felony counts related to the incident that occurred in the early hours of February 24. The charges include malicious damage by an explosive and possession of an unregistered destructive device.

Authorities reported that no injuries resulted from the explosion, and there was minimal damage to the surrounding buildings. Attorney General Steve Marshall expressed relief following Calvert’s arrest, stating that the incident did not appear to be a random act of violence.
