Wrestlers in Gurugram Sports Academy Brutally Attacked by Group of Men

Gurugram, India – In a shocking incident at a sports academy in Gurugram, seven wrestlers were viciously attacked by a group of men, resulting in serious injuries on April 10. The disturbing altercation was captured by the CCTV cameras at the facility, showing the group assaulting the wrestlers with sticks.

Reports indicate that a group of 20 men barged into the wrestling arena at the Gurugram sports complex armed with sticks, initiating a violent confrontation with the athletes. Among the victims was a national-level grappler, highlighting the severity of the attack.

Four of the wrestlers targeted in the assault – Rajbir, Jeetu, Roshan, and Lokesh – are currently receiving medical treatment for the injuries they sustained. The video footage of the brutal attack quickly spread across social media platforms, sparking outrage and calls for justice.

Following the incident, an FIR was filed against 11 identified individuals and others yet to be identified at Kherki Daula Police Station in Gurugram. According to the FIR, wrestler Lokesh, a national-level athlete, recounted being accosted on his way to Navshakti Academy from home before the violent altercation ensued. The accused then proceeded to the academy with reinforcements and savagely beat the wrestlers with sticks.

In his complaint, Lokesh detailed how the assailants not only physically assaulted them but also issued death threats. The authorities, led by SHO Bijender Singh of Kherki Daula Police Station, have launched an investigation into the attack, conducting raids on potential hideouts of the suspects.

The injured wrestlers are currently recovering from fractures to their limbs sustained during the assault, receiving treatment at a local hospital. The community has rallied behind the athletes, demanding swift justice and accountability for those responsible for the heinous attack.
