Murdered Madisonville Man’s Family Continues Search for Justice

MADISONVILLE, Ohio – A family in Madisonville continues their pursuit of justice 12 years after the tragic murder of Marcus Daniels. On April 13, 2012, Daniels was fatally shot while caring for his grandmother at her home on Chandler Street. Sadly, his grandmother Margaret Daniels witnessed the heartbreaking event just feet away.

This past weekend marked the solemn anniversary of Marcus’ death, prompting his family to gather at the location of his murder. Margaret shared how she ran out after hearing the gunshots, only to find Marcus unresponsive. Over a decade later, the family still grapples with the absence of answers and closure, believing that someone out there holds valuable information regarding the case.

Despite the passage of time, Marcus’ mother Marcia remains haunted by the pain of his loss. While she acknowledges that nothing can fully alleviate her grief, she holds onto the hope that obtaining justice will bring some measure of solace. Each year, the family honors Marcus with a vigil, releasing balloons, singing, and praying as they cling to one another for support.

As the years go by, Marcia acknowledges the dwindling numbers at the annual gathering, recognizing that their fight for justice is a deeply personal one. Despite the challenges and disappointments, the family vows to continue their quest for answers, pledging to return year after year until the truth is uncovered.

In a plea to the public, the family urges anyone with information relating to Marcus Daniels’ death to reach out to the Cincinnati Police or Crime Stoppers. The search for closure and justice persists, a testament to the unwavering determination of a grieving family unwilling to give up on their quest for resolution. The pain of their loss remains raw, driving them to seek the truth and hold those responsible accountable.
