Explosive Offense Propels Calvary Softball to Quarterfinals Victory

SHREVEPORT, La. – Calvary Baptist Academy’s softball team showcased a dominating offensive display against Beekman Charter, scoring 10 runs in the first inning to secure a 12-0 victory in just five innings at Lady Cavs Park. Kynzee Anderson shone on the mound, delivering a flawless performance with her second perfect game of the season, striking out five batters without allowing any baserunners.

Anderson reflected on her remarkable achievement post-game, acknowledging the realization of pitching a perfect game when she walked off the field. Calvary’s head coach, Tiffany Wood, praised Anderson’s impeccable performance, highlighting her execution and pitching prowess throughout the game. Teammate Loren Sivils also commended Anderson, emphasizing her exceptional skills and character as a player.

The offensive firepower from Calvary continued as Carley Guile kickstarted the scoring in the first inning with an RBI double, followed by a two-run homer to cement Calvary’s lead. Sivils contributed significantly with a three-run homer that left no doubt as it sailed over the centerfield fence, further extending the Lady Cavaliers’ advantage.

With a remarkable record of 30-1, Calvary is now set to face Patrick Taylor in a crucial matchup on Friday at Lady Cavs Park, vying for a spot in the state tournament.
