Pasadena, California – Police have released a surveillance image of a man suspected of committing a violent sexual assault on a woman in her car outside a restaurant in Pasadena. The incident occurred late Saturday night on Sierra Madre Villa Avenue. According to the Pasadena Police Department, the suspect entered the woman’s car, brandished a knife, and forced her to drive to another location in Pasadena, where the assault took place.
The victim managed to fight back against the attacker, allowing her to call 911 and seek help after the suspect fled the scene. Authorities described the suspect as a Black male, approximately 30 to 40 years old, standing about six feet tall with a heavy build. He was last seen wearing a black face mask, a gray hooded rain jacket, light blue jeans, and black shoes, armed with a folding knife. Additionally, the man has a distinctive raspy voice and may be transient.
In response to the incident, Pasadena residents expressed concern over the safety of their community. Lynne Levin-Guzman, a nurse with 20 years of experience, emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant in light of such attacks. Despite the trauma of the assault, the victim showed courage and resilience in defending herself and seeking help promptly.
This assault comes shortly after two brutal sexual assaults near the canals in Venice, where one woman was severely beaten and another sustained significant injuries. The suspect in those cases, Anthony Jones, 29, was recently arrested in San Diego and is facing charges including forcible rape and attempted murder.
