Killeen, Texas – Authorities from the Killeen Police Department, Copperas Cove Police Department, and Lampasas County Sheriff’s Department are collaborating in the investigation of a fatal shooting incident in Killeen that resulted in the death of one individual, with the suspect taking their own life in Lampasas County.
The Killeen Police Department received reports of the shooting in the 6300 block of Taree Loop in southwest Killeen at 2:48 p.m. Responding officers discovered a male victim with gunshot wounds, and the suspect was not present at the scene. However, the suspected shooter contacted 911 to report the incident.
Subsequently, the Copperas Cove Police located the suspect’s vehicle and initiated a traffic stop in Lampasas County.
