Vehicle Crash into Texas DPS Building Leaves One Dead, Multiple Injured in Intentional Act

AUSTIN, Texas – A tragic incident occurred when a stolen 18-wheeler crashed into a Texas Department of Public Safety office in Brenham. The crash resulted in multiple serious injuries and one fatality. Law enforcement was pursuing the stolen vehicle when it rammed into the building, leading to a devastating outcome.

The Texas Rangers are currently investigating the incident, which involved a suspect named Clenard Parker. Parker, 42, had visited the Brenham office the day before for a commercial driver’s license renewal but was denied. Following the crash, Parker was apprehended at the scene and taken into custody at the Washington County Jail. He is facing charges of unauthorized vehicle use and evading arrest.

In total, 14 individuals were involved in the incident, with six of them requiring hospitalization and the remaining eight treated and released at the scene. Texas DPS confirmed the location of the building as 975 U.S. Highway 290 in Brenham, located about an hour northwest of Houston and two hours east of Austin.

Texas Senator Lois Kolkhorst shared on social media that three people were airlifted with critical injuries, while three others were transported to local hospitals in stable condition. Law enforcement officials suspect that the crash was a deliberate and criminal act.
