Venezuelan Nationals Targeted in Deadly Bronx Shooting Spree

A tragic incident unfolded in the Bronx, New York, where two Venezuelan nationals fell victim to a shooting that claimed one life and left another fighting for survival, according to police reports on Tuesday.

Adrian Mendoza, 24, and Jhombeyker Bisbal, 31, were seated in a 2015 Nissan Rogue outside a McDonald’s in Mott Haven when a gray Honda Civic pulled up early in the morning, as described by NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny during a press briefing.

The assailant emerged from the Civic, walked past the victims’ vehicle, and then returned, proceeding to open fire on Mendoza and Bisbal. Mendoza sustained fatal injuries to the head and body, while Bisbal was shot multiple times in the chest, arm, and shoulder.

Following the shooting, the perpetrator fled the scene on foot, leaving the victims severely wounded in the car. Both Mendoza and Bisbal were rushed to Lincoln Hospital, where Mendoza succumbed to his injuries, while Bisbal remained in critical condition.

The authorities revealed that neither of the men had a prior arrest record in New York, but Mendoza was apprehended by Customs and Border Control in Texas in August, with Bisbal facing a similar situation in May.

Efforts are underway by law enforcement to locate the Honda Civic with Virginia license plates that the shooter used, although no arrests have been made at this point. The investigation into the tragic incident continues to unfold as officials work to bring justice for the victims and their families.
