Attacker Steals Purse from Woman Buying Flowers in San Fernando: Police Seek Suspect

San Fernando, California – A woman was violently attacked and robbed of her purse as she was returning home after buying flowers for her mother earlier this week. The incident took place on Monday around 3 p.m. on Park Avenue in San Fernando, according to Lt. Walter Dominguez of the San Fernando Police Department.

The victim, identified as Juliana Murillo, recounted being pushed to the ground by a man as she was about to enter her apartment. In a harrowing ordeal captured by surveillance cameras, Murillo struggled with the assailant in an attempt to retain her purse before he ultimately fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle.

During the scuffle, Murillo sustained injuries when she hit her head on the door, leaving her bewildered and in shock. Law enforcement officials are advising the public to remain vigilant even during daylight hours and to prioritize personal safety over possessions in such circumstances.

Lt. Dominguez emphasized the importance of prioritizing personal safety, stating, “Don’t fight for the property, it’s replaceable. Your life is not replaceable.” The San Fernando Police Department is actively using a Flock Camera license plate recognition system to assist in their investigation, enabling them to narrow down potential vehicles involved in the crime.

Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspect responsible for the violent attack and robbery. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact the San Fernando Police Detective Bureau at 818-898-1261. The community is reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement for prompt action.
