BOISE, Idaho – In a courtroom in Boise, Idaho, former best friend of Lori Vallow Daybell, Melanie Gibb, recounted chilling conversations she had with Vallow Daybell and her now-husband Chad Daybell leading up to the tragic murders of Vallow Daybell’s husband and children, along with Daybell’s wife.
During her testimony, Gibb shared details of disturbing discussions where prayers for the demise of their spouses were uttered, lies were spun about the whereabouts of Vallow Daybell’s missing children, and individuals, including children, were labeled as either “dark” or “light”. Gibb revealed that Vallow Daybell believed it was her mission to gather women to the 144,000 – individuals supposedly destined to gather the righteous at the end of time – a belief that Daybell shared.
The testimonies also delved into the concept of multiple lives, with Vallow Daybell asserting that she and Daybell had been married in a previous life and were destined to be married again in their current life. Gibb disclosed that Daybell would categorize people as “light” or “dark” based on their supposed pre-Earth contracts, with the ability for a light individual to transition to darkness.
Gibb also shed light on disturbing rituals known as “castings”, where prayers were made for evil spirits to leave individuals, resulting in their death or the entrance of a new spirit. She mentioned participating in these castings for various individuals, including Charles Vallow, Tammy Daybell, and Brandon Boudreaux, but clarified that she did not partake in any casting involving the Vallow children.
Moreover, Gibb reminisced about her initial encounters with Tylee, JJ, and Charles Vallow, emphasizing the strained relationship between Tylee and her mother.
