Both teenagers were not residents of the home where the incident took place. The 17-year-old had been granted permission to care for the homeowner’s dog while the owner was away.

Throughout the day, the group reportedly consumed alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine, leading to a drug-fueled hangout. The situation took a tragic turn when the 17-year-old retrieved a gun belonging to the homeowner and began playing around with it, ultimately leading to the fatal outcome.
An altercation ensued between the 17-year-old boy and the 14-year-old girl regarding a prior romantic encounter, resulting in a fatal confrontation that ended both of their lives.
