Boise, Idaho – A tragic incident unfolded in Boise over the weekend when Deputy Tobin Bolter was shot during a routine traffic stop. The Ada County Coroner’s Office has identified the perpetrator as Dennis Mulqueen, 65, of Boise, who later succumbed to his injuries at Saint Alphonsus hospital. The series of events began unfolding on Saturday night when Mulqueen allegedly shot Deputy Bolter in the neck before fleeing the scene.
According to reports from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Bolter had pulled over a vehicle near West Overland Road and North Raymond Street when Mulqueen opened fire. A witness to the shooting immediately called 911 and rendered aid to Deputy Bolter before he was rushed to Saint Alphonsus for medical attention. Meanwhile, the suspect’s vehicle was later discovered abandoned near South Dorian and West Roosevelt streets.
